## Definition

The second derivative can be found

by differentiating a function twice.

So it is written as*f*''(*x*), *y*'', *d*^{2}*y*/*dx*^{2}, (*d*^{2}/*dx*^{2})*f*(*x*), ... .

## Example

First, differentiate *f*(*x*).

Then *f*'(*x*) = 5*x*^{4} - 14*x*.

Derivatives of polynomials

Then *f*'(*x*) = 20*x*^{3} - 14.
