Probability of (not A, Complement)

Probability of (not A, Complement)

How to solve the probability of (not A, complement) problems: example and its solution.

Example

A bag is filled with 15 colored and shaped cards. In selecting a card without looking, find the probability of not selecting a triangle card.

The probability of selecting a triangle card is 4/15.

So the probability of
not selecting a triangle card
is 1 - 4/15, 11/15.

P(not A) = 1 - P(A).
