How to multiply radicals that are not monomials: example and its solution.

Example

Simplify the given expression. (square root 3 + square root 2)(square root 6 - 2).

FOIL method

Split √6 to √2⋅√3.

Then
first term: √3⋅√6 = √3⋅√3⋅√2 = 3√2
third term: √2⋅√6 = √2⋅√2⋅√3 = 2√3.
